There's something new coming out of one of B.C.'s most popular Baja-style taco restaurant.

While we love the idea of washing down some tacos and burritos with a cold Mexican beer, sometimes, we want to have something stronger or more flavourful. Julia Diakow recently joined Tacofino Gastown to help the team introduce new seasonal cocktails and its happy hour. The new bar manager also introduced three new spirit flights: two tequila flights and one mezcal flight, each with three three-quarter ounce pours, so guests can try a variety of styles.

Here is Diakow's recipe for Tacofino's Coronation Street cocktail, made with gin and mezcal.

Coronation Street cocktail

1½ oz. Beefeater Gin
1/3 oz. Siete Misterios Doba Yej Mezcal
1/2 oz. lemon juice
1/2 oz. agave nectar
3 sprigs parsley

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Fine strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a parsley sprig on a miniature clothesline pin.
