Cider buttered rum

The autumn chill is definitely in the air now, and we reach for hot beverages over ice cold drinks. For a comforting way to wind down at the end of the day, try this hot buttered rum recipe using Chic Choc spiced rum. Made in Canada, it is produced with six indigenous spices that gives it hints of sugar cane and cinnamon, with a touch of pepper.

Chic Choc spiced rum is currently available in Ontario, Alberta, Quebec and New Brunswick. 

1½ oz. Chic Choc Spiced Rum
4 oz. apple cider
1/2 oz. orange juice
2 dashes vanilla extract
1/2 oz. salted butter

Add all ingredients in a pan, except butter, and bring to a heavy steam over high heat. Remove from heat.

Add room temperature butter and stir.

Pour into mug.

1 drink
