Miku’s Oni No Chi cocktail

A fiery cocktail with serrano and tequila to warm up with on a cool autumn day

Toronto's Miku is celebrating its second anniversary this October and this Oni No Chi cocktail is the perfect drink for it. This drink, meaning demon's blood in Japanese, is a potent twist on an El Diablo with a fiery kick.

Serrano-infused tequila

2 serrano peppers, sliced
1 750 ml bottle tequila

Add peppers to tequila bottle.

Store in cold place with an airtight non-reaction container for 24 hours.

Strain out serrano peppers and serve.

3 wedges lime
30 mL serrano-infused tequila
20 mL Giffard ginger liquor
20 mL creme de cassis
1 slice lime
cloves, for garnish

Stud lime wheel with cloves. Set aside.

Muddle lime wedges in cocktail glass.

Add ice, tequila, ginger liquor and creme de cassis. Stir to mix and pour into a double rocks glass. Top with ice.

Garnish with clove-studded lime slice.
