Described as the "musical love child of Jason Mraz & Patsy Cline", Tanya Ryan is regular performer on the Nashville North Stage during the Calgary Stampede. On September 28, you can find her at Knoxville's Tavern as a part of Project WILD's Showcase Series, competing for the grand prize of $100,953.00.

When she's not playing or writing music, Ryan likes to hike, do yoga, and of course, there's a bit of eating in the mix as well. Here's where she goes when she's in Turner Valley, Okotoks and Black Diamond.

Breakfast

The Chuckwagon Cafe in Turner Valley, AB is what breakfast is supposed to be: hearty, soul filling and just So. Damn. Good. Worth the drive.

Lunch

Pho Hoai in Okotoks has actually the best pho you’ll ever have. Okotoks is full of great restaurants and this is one of them, one of those surprising secrets. (There’s a number of things to do in Okotoks… and eat Pho is one of them!)

The Westwood in Black Diamond, AB has a menu that is truly creative. As a fellow creator, I appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into their menu. I love the use of elk, bison and duck; and they are known for their live music as well. You can’t go wrong!

The vibes at The George in Okotoks are my favourite. The people are so great, they have live music regularly, the staff is awesome - and the food is SO good as well!
