One day in Regina: Lifestyle blogger Ryan Massel

Mr. Fabulous on the must-visit spots in Regina, SK

Not all of us can be at the front row of fashion shows, which is why we rely on bloggers like Ryan Massel to give us the scoop on the latest trends.

Massel, a.k.a. Mr. Fabulous can be found at all the events you want to get into: parties, store openings, restaurant openings and fashion shows. Living up to his name in the most glamourous way, this gentleman will be hosting Saskatchewan Fashion Week this year.

So how does he refuel for his busy lifestyle when he's in Regina, SK? He makes his rounds and hits all these spots. Leave it to Mr. Fabulous to indulge us with an option for mid-afternoon snack.

Breakfast

The first thing that I crave when I awake from my slumber is something sweet. And Fresh & Sweet's breakfast waffles are like something out of a dream! Its bananas Foster, caramel apple pie waffle and the lemon meringue waffles are a perfect way to start my day.

Lunch

Victoria's Tavern is the place to go for when you just can't decide. It's got everything on the menu, but for me it's the Grilled Cheese of the Day #GC365 that I can't wait to order. It's always different and it's always delicious.

If you're up for a drive, a trip through Saskatchewan wouldn't be complete with out a stop at Regina Beach's Blue Bird Cafe for fish and chips. I've been eating them since I was a kid and nothing brings back more happy memories than sitting on the steps of the Blue Bird Cafe!

Mid-afternoon snack

When I'm having a sugary snack attack I'm heading straight for Koko Patisserie in Radison Plaza Hotel Saskatchewan! Cakes, cupcakes, tarts and slices [are all excellent choices], but it's its bittersweet chocolate truffle cookie that holds the key to my heart and stomach.

Dinner

Tradition and a great steak kees bringing me back to Golf's Steak House. Low lighting, wood panels, patterned wallpaper and busy carpet mixed with cushy chairs, Golf's decor is as memorable as the menu.

Looking for a more modern flair? Flip, Crave and Table 10 are also on my must dine list.

Drinks

It is impossible to not have an amazing night at La Bodega. It's got creative, thirst-quenching martinis starting at just $5 and a wine list where you can get 50 per cent discount off most bottles. Add in several delicious tapas and a to-die-for chocolate fondue for two, it's a night that I never want to end.
