A new contemporary Italian eatery is celebrating its grand opening in Vancouver’s newly-opened And-Co today. Named after the ancient Roman goddess of night, NOX will aim to offer a varied menu that blends seasonal West Coast ingredients with classical Italian culinary traditions. 

The restaurant is being helmed by Alejandro Diaz and chef Sam Fabbro of the award-winning Mexican restaurant el Santo. The space itself is sleek and simplistic, allowing the culinary program to serve as the primary centrepiece and design accessory. 

Some of NOX’s opening day menu options include freshly made pasta choices such as marinated crab egg noodles and braised pork and pear gnocchi; vegetarian pasta options like braised leek ravioli, butternut squash ragu tagliatelle; and main course dishes like grilled albacore tuna, red endive risotto, and Fraser Valley duck breast. 

Although we’ve yet to see what the beverage program looks like, NOX has said that wine director Lucia Nahacka will feature a tailored wine list featuring boutique Italian and British Columbian wineries that are committed to sustainable practices. 

NOX will be open Wednesdays through Sundays from 4 to 10 p.m. Reservations can be made online.
