Top Chef Canada’s Emily Butcher opens Nola restaurant in Winnipeg

Here's the scoop on Winnipeg's newest restaurant

A new restaurant concept from Top Chef Canada Season 9 competitor Emily Butcher and Burnley Place Hospitality’s Mike Del Buono celebrated its highly anticipated grand opening today in Winnipeg, offering a unique, elegant, and innovative approach to seasonal Prairie cuisine. 

Since her appearance on Top Chef Canada, chef Butler has spent a significant time developing, testing, and fine-tuning the buzzworthy new eatery's lunch and dinner menus, which will be featured at Nola throughout the fall season.

In addition to the plates pictured above, some of the opening day standout dishes include offerings such as the Gunpowder Roast Carrots with whipped feta, pumpkin seed butter, and candied pumpkin seeds, the house-rolled Loaded Baked Potato Gnocchi with sauteed kale, crispy fried potato, bacon bits, and sauerkraut beurre blanc, and a braised beef shank with butternut squash risotto, pickled squash, fennel, and herb salad. 

Nola will be open for lunch Tuesdays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and for dinner Tuesdays through Saturdays beginning at 5 p.m. Reservations can be made over the phone
