A fun event from Foodpreneur Lab and Junction Craft Brewery is taking place in Toronto this month that will feature a guided food and beer pairing, a Black food market, live music, and more, all while celebrating Black excellence, diversity, and joy.

Taking place on June 19 at Junction Craft Brewery, the Juneteenth Block Party will kick off with a ticketed guided food and beer pairing led by Beer Diversity’s Ren Navarro. Participants will be treated to four five-ounce beer samples paired with a variety of cuisines, including Haitian pikliz, West African chin chins, Zimbabwean-style pies, Ghanian Kelewele, and Jamaican rum cheesecakes.

Following the VIP tasting event, the festivities will open up to the public with an outdoor food market that will showcase a wide selection of Black food products from Foodpreneur Lab members. The Block Party will also feature live music throughout the day from Toronto-based turntablist DJ Big Jacks.

In addition to being an incredibly fun way to spend a day, the Block Party and food market will help support Foodpreneur Lab’s ongoing efforts to advance racial and gender equity by supporting Canadian startup and scale-up food businesses.

Tickets to the Block Party's guided food and beer pairing can be purchased online.
