Calgary's River Café announces exciting Michelin-Starred cabane à sucre event

A one-night-only collab between River Café and St. Lawrence

St. Lawrence chef and owner J-C Poirier and River Café executive chef Scott MacKenzie create a cabane à sucre menu.

As robust as the Calgary restaurant scene has become, it's still rare to get a true taste of Québécois cuisine. With that in mind, Calgarians should be very excited for a recently announced collaboration between two of the country's top restaurants, River Café and Vancouver's Michelin-Starred St. Lawrence.

Cabane à Sucre: A Feast of Québécois Flavours will take place on Friday, March 17, 2023 and sees visiting chef J-C Poirier and River Café executive chef Scott MacKenzie creating a six-course dinner menu that promises to elevate and celebrate traditional aspects and ingredients of a sugar shack meal.

In addition to a lavish evening of food and drink, each couple will receive a signed copy of J-C Poirier’s acclaimed cookbook Where the River Narrows: Classic French & Nostalgic Québécois Recipes From St. Lawrence Restaurant.

Tickets for River Café x St. Lawrence Cabane à Sucre: A Feast of Québécois Flavours are $195 (plus tax) and includes dinner, beverage pairings and gratuity. This dinner event is helping to kick off Calgary's dining festival, the YYC Food & Drink Experience, which runs from March 17-26.
