A cool new coffee shop to check out in Calgary

With nationally renowned roasters like Phil & Sebastian, Monogram Coffee Co. and Rosso Coffee Roasters, it should come as no surprise to anybody that Calgary has a robust coffee shop scene.

The newest addition to the city's cafe community is Congress Coffee. Located in the Tuxedo neighbourhood (just around the corner from Citizen Brewing Company), the quirky-yet-cozy cafe opened for business earlier this week and is serving up caffeinated bevvies alongside a simple sandwich-focused food menu.

With a focus on the arts community as part of its company mantra, it's not surprising that Congress Coffee has a pretty humorous approach to their promotional graphics...and they definitely grab your attention!

The business is aiming to resurrect the coffeehouse vibes of the 1990s by way of becoming a hub for local creatives. With upcoming events that will span everything from live music to stand-up comedy and poetry, it seems like the sky is the limit to interested local artists of all disciplines hoping to do something unique in the space.

Congress Coffee is located at 1A-215 36 Ave N.E. and operates seven days a week: Mondays to Thursdays from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. - 9 p.m., and Sundays from 9 a.m - 5 p.m.
