The Johnny Mac Caesar

Add sumac to the rim seasoning for a unique flavour

Named after Canada's first prime minister, Sir John A. Macdonald, this Canadian cocktail is made with Walter's all natural, craft Caesar mix. It's extra savoury with the addition of celery bitters and sumac powder in the rim seasoning.

lime juice
1 tbsp maple sugar
1 tbsp coarse sea salt
1/4 tsp sumac powder
3 oz. Walter All-Natural Craft Caesar Mix (well spiced)
1-1/2 oz. Dillon’s Small Batch Distillers White Rye
10 drops celery or Angelica Bitters
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp cabernet sauvignon

Pour lime juice into a small dish wider than the rim of the glass. In a separate shallow and wide dish, mix sugar, salt and sumac powder.

Dip rim of glass into lime juice, then seasoning.

Fill glass to the brim with ice. Add Walter Well Spiced Craft Caesar Mix, white rye, bitters and lemon juice. Stir gently but thoroughly with bar spoon.

Gently “float” the cabernet by pouring over the back of the bar spoon, so it stays mostly on top, but starts to trickle down into the rest of the drink.

Optional: garnish with prawn wrapped around end of cucumber spear, secure with toothpick.
