Daily bite: enRoute changes Canada's Best New Restaurants 2017 announcement format

enRoute's Canada's Best New Restaurants 2017 Top 10 to be revealed tonight

enRoute Canada's Best New Restaurants 2017
Only 10 out of 30 nominated Canadian restaurants will be announced as the best new eateries in Canada.

Tonight's the night for ten lucky Canadian restaurateurs and their respective chefs, as they will soon collectively bask in the limelight for being on Air Canada enRoute's prestigious list of best new Canadian restaurants for 2017.

What started off with a long list of 30 nominated restaurants from coast to coast--highlighting anything from chef-driven brunch to contemporary Latin American and everything in-between--has since been whittled down to the cream of the crop. Ultimately determined by the list's undercover restaurant critic, the equally elusive and eloquent San Francisco-based Andrew Braithwaite (his fourth year in the role), the ten restaurants must hit all of the marks when it comes to an exceptional dining experience.

In previous years, the long-awaited list has been unveiled later in October by way of a tandem early morning press release and website reveal. Regional social media flurries would immediately ensue, after food-focused folks in various time zones across the country awaken and fumble for their phones. (I know, West Coast, you've always been late to the party, but not anymore!)

A fun and extra buzzworthy twist for the Canada's Best New Restaurants 2017 list will see its members announced from tenth to first, live on social media, during the sold out 2017 Top 10 Gala tonight.

Things kick off in Toronto at 6:00 p.m. EDT, so stick to the hashtag #AirCanadaTop10 on Twitter and Instagram to discover who the lucky ten eateries are.
