From mixing cookie dough with a talented drag queen to grilling pork belly in Edmonton, there were no dull moments on today's episode of Eat North Variety Pack! Co-hosts Mairlyn Smith and Dan Clapson are joined by panelist Carmen Cheng of Food Karma to discuss some recent food and drink news stories and Canada Day cooking before our special guests arrive.
First, chef Ariel del Rosario of Edmonton's Filistix chats with Mairlyn about his approach to Filipino cooking and whips up on of his restaurant's signature dishes. Next, Dan joins Vancouver drag queen Scarlett BoBo in her kitchen while she mixes up some cookie dough and chats about Pride season, Pride-themed eats and, of course, why we should all tune in for the premiere of Canada's Drag Race on July 2.
Last, but not least, singer Brettyn Rose performs her upcoming single "But I Do" to close out the show.
