On the latest episode of Eat North Variety Pack, co-hosts Mairlyn Smith and Dan Clapson are once again joined by Calgary-based food writer and Instagrammer, Carmen Cheng to chat about some current events before our special guests arrive.
First up is Vancouver's Mina Mercury, an award-winning drag performer who recently helped to raise $5,000 for out-of-work performers in her area. Mercury talks a bit about how the creativity of drag and food are often intertwined during drag brunches and other performance-centric events before she heads into the kitchen with Mairlyn Smith to prepare brunch.
Media personality and Cityline regular Pay Chen also pops in for a "sit-down" conversation about the new national movement #TakeOutDay, which is encouraging Canadians to order take-out from local restaurants every Wednesday. Finally, Matt Blais close out the show with a fantastic acoustic performance of a newly written and emotive song that speaks to what we're all facing while social distancing.
Previous episodes of Eat North Variety Pack are available on both YouTube and Facebook.
