To celebrate this year's Calgary Stampede, Bar C Food & Drink will release a Stampede-inspired cocktail list, featuring six signature cocktails, on July 3, 2015 and sell the cocktails exclusively until July 12, 2015. 

For those keen to sip their libation unadulterated, Bar C will also be featuring Bacardi 8 Year and Cazadores Anejo (two-ounce pour) on the rocks for $8, as well as shots of Fireball Whisky (one ounce) for $3 during the entire 10-day celebration. 

“Paying homage to the 10-day celebration in Calgary, we wanted to create a cocktail list that was equal parts booze and boots, with a dash of tradition,” says Brad Royale, CRMR wine director. “We created a list of traditional cocktails, but made them in non-traditional ways.”

Bar C's Stampede-inspired cocktail list includes The Red Herring, The Celery Caesar, I Got Bucked, Hacienda Caliente, Buffalo Fig Fizz and Fireproof, which we've been able to snag the recipe for, so you can try making it at home!

Sipped rather than shot, Fireproof shoves Fireball Whisky, ginger, lime, Dos Maderas Rum and a maraschino cherry together in one glass. A sprig of thyme shaped as a lasso for garnish completes the cocktail. You thought you were tough — well, now you’re Fireproof, too.

Fireproof cocktail

1 oz. Fireball Whisky
1 oz. Dos Maderas 5+5 Rum
1 oz. Luxardo Maraschino
1 oz. lime juice
1 oz. ginger syrup
1/8 oz. mezcal
1 sprig thyme, tied into a loop, for garnish

Combine the Fireball, Dos Maderas, Luxardo, lime juice and ginger syrup into metal shaker.  Fill the shaker with ice and shake for 20 seconds. 

Rim a Tom Collins glass with the mezcal and double strain the cocktail into the glass. 

Top with ice and garnish with the thyme “lasso”.
