As good as Baileys and coffee is for weekend mornings, on holidays or camping trips, it's a pretty unimaginative combination. Trade the predictable drink for this iced London Fog with a touch of Amaro.
Iced London fogs
3 Earl Grey tea bags
1/4 cup water
2 cups half and half cream
4 cups brewed and chilled Earl Grey tea
6 oz. Amaro Lucano
vanilla simple syrup, to taste
Combine tea bags and water in a large mason jar or pitcher. Let sit for 5 minutes.
Add cream, cover and place in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours (12 hours is ideal) to allow the tea to slowly infuse.
To serve, remove cream and tea mixture from fridge and discard tea bags.
Combine with brewed tea, Amaro Lucano and simple syrup and stir.
Serve in a large pitcher full of ice or poured evenly into 4 tumbler glasses.
Vanilla simple syrup
1/4 cup water
3 tbsp cane sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients and cook until sugar dissolves.
