When it comes to holiday entertaining, both whisky and cranberries usually find themselves being enjoyed one way or another, but enjoyed together? Well, that's a little less frequent.
This cranberry-lemon whisky sour is an easy drink to whip up and makes for a perfect welcome drink at a holiday party. The fresh rosemary garnish adds a nice aromatic (and festive) element to the cocktail while fresh cranberries add a nice pop of red to the already-colourful concoction.
This holiday cocktail recipe batches nicely too, so if you've got a vintage punch bowl in your cupboards, we say dust it off and use it!
Gibson's Winter Sour
2 oz Gibson's Finest Rare 12 Year Old Canadian Whisky
4 oz fresh lemon juice
2 oz simple syrup
1 oz cranberry juice
Rosemary sprig, for garnish
fresh cranberries, for garnish
Mix all ingredients into shaker and shake dry. Add ice and shake again hard.
Strain into rocks glass, garnish with rosemary sprig and a fresh cranberry or two.
Enjoy!
(Note: If you want to get a bit more bartender-y, add one egg white per drink when shaking to end up with a more velvety final product.)
