Cass Lucke

Having lived in the same home in Richmond, B.C. for all 20 years of her life, Cass Lucke has witnessed the ever changing landscape surrounding her and knows much of the farmland that still remains is due to the dedicated famers in her community, including Harold Steves who is featured in her article, One Hundred Years of Resilience Against Rapid Urbanization. After two years in Langara College's journalism program, Lucke emerged with a newfound love for finding human connection in every story she tells, landing her an internship with CBC Victoria followed by a fellowship with CBC Vancouver. At a time when the world seems to be teetering on such a divide, Cass hopes her work will continue to highlight the personal stories hidden between the lines of often reported on "bigger-picture issues," demonstrating that we are all more connected than we may think.
