Canadian's premier bilingual cookbook awards program, Taste Canada Awards / Les Laureats de Saveurs du Canada, is back for its 21st year of awards programming. As usual, the awards will see a mix of Canadian authored books, as well as Canadian culinary blogs, honoured at their official gala in the fall (date still to be determined).
Any interested publishers and authors are now encouraged to submit their works in a variety of English and French categories (like general cookbooks, single-subject cookbooks, culinary narratices, and general food blogs) before the submissions deadline of February, 21st, after which a panel of culinary writing experts will spend the coming months reviewing all published works to determine the category winners. To be eligible for consideration, books must have been published in the 2017 calendar year.
There was no shortage of wonderful Canadian cookbooks that debuted last year, from Renee Kohlman's All The Sweet Things to Ned Bell's Lure and everything in between, so it will be exciting to see which cookbooks end up on top.
