Fairmont Hotels in the Canadian Rockies set to reopen on June 1

Fairmont Hotels and Resorts have partnered with world leaders in health and safety to ensure a safe relaunch

After closing the doors to its four Canadian western mountain region properties more than two months ago, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts announced yesterday that it plans to reopen Fairmont Banff Springs, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, and Fairmont Chateau Whistler to guests and visitors on June 1.

“The hotels’ top priority remains the safety, care and wellbeing of our Fairmont family. Welcoming, safeguarding and taking care of others is at the very heart of what we do and who we are,” said David Roberts, Fairmont Banff Spring general manager and regional vice-president of Fairmont Hotels in Canada’s western mountain region. “Today, this means keeping our guests and employees safe by preventing the spread of COVID-19.”

To that end, Fairmont has partnered with some of the world’s top health and safety experts to develop and implement enhanced operational protocols and procedures, which will ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at each property.

In addition to standard physical distancing practices, the hotels will employ mandatory screenings and provide masks for all guests and employees. Fairmont hotels have also committed to increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting, and will allow a 48-hour vacancy period between guest occupancy.

“As we welcome our friends, family and community back to Fairmont Banff Springs, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, and Fairmont Chateau Whistler, please be assured that we are looking ahead, through and past the COVID-19 pandemic, to ensure that our valued guests and employees will always be looked after with the highest degree of safety, care and comfort,” Roberts stated. “We’ve been practicing the Art of Waiting since our hotels closed on April 10, and we really cannot wait to welcome our guests back.”
