If you have a bottle of creme de cassis and all you make with it is Kir Royale, then you're missing out. Try making this gin cocktail by Kylie Bartlett, Odd Society Spirits bar manager.
Odd Society Spirits' creme de cassis was recently named best fruit liqueur in Sip Northwest magazine's Best of the Northwest issue. Made with B.C. blackcurrants, the liqueur's recipe comes from chef Hervé Martin of The French Table and has good acidity to balance its sweetness.
1 ½ oz. Odd Society Spirits Wallflower Gin
1/2 oz. Odd Society Spirits Crème de Cassis
1/2 oz. Odd Society Spirits Bittersweet Vermouth
1/4 oz. simple syrup
1 raspberry
1 oz. lemon juice
5 drops Ms. Betters Miraculous Vegan Foamer
1 dash Addition Szechuan Pepper Cocktail Spice
Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Dry shake (without ice), followed by a wet shake.
Double strain into a coupe glass. Serve.
