Make beer fancy again.

2020 has been unpredictable, but one thing that never changes is that merry feeling when one gets to cheers with friends and family over a holiday dinner. When it comes to holiday entertaining, things are undeniably different this month with most major cities in lockdown, but you know what they say: where there's a home bar, there's an opportunity to mix up a drink and have a virtual cheers!

With that in mind, try mixing this refreshing and festive drink that utilizes the winter spice notes–vanilla, toffee et al.–of the barrel-aged Innis & Gunn and Angostura bitters (clove-y!) as well as dark sherry. It's an easy drink to batch, so if you are lucky enough to be able to have some folks over for a holiday dinner, simply multiply this recipe for idyllic punch bowl results!

Heartbreaker cocktail

1 ounce dark sherry
1 ounce fresh lime juice
3/4 ounce orgeat syrup
3 dashes Angostura Bitters
Innis & Gunn Original, enough to top
orange peel, for garnish

Place first four ingredients in a cocktail shaker, fill with ice and shake for approximately 30 seconds.

Strain mixture into an ice-filled Collins glass and garnish with strip of orange peel.

Serve immediately.
