Extremely hot days in the summer can be tough on our bodies. Instead of a cocktail, try whipping up a smoothie full of fruits, seeds and nut milk to revive yourself. Zach Berman and Ryan Slater of The Juice Truck recently came out with their cookbook that guides you through juicing and starting a more plant-focused lifestyle. Try this recipe for a snack or breakfast tomorrow.
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup raspberries
1/2 cup blueberries
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp hemp seed
1/4 tsp raw vanilla powder
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 to 3/4 cup cashew milk or almond milk
Add berries, seeds, vanilla powder and banana to blender. Add enough nut milk to blender to reach the 500mL mark. Blend until smooth and creamy, then serve.
You can also add basil or mint, according to your preference.
