The Prairie Caesar with beef jerky, Chinook honey and Northern Harvest Rye

This recipe from Walter Caesar Mix uses some great Canadian Prairie ingredients in a delicious way

With National Caesar Day on the horizon, we can't help but have Caesars on our minds! This delicious and easy recipe calls for a mix of ingredients that celebrate different parts of the Canadian Prairies. From Alberta's most famous honey to small-batch jerky in Saskatchewan, to the award-winning Northern Harvest Rye by Crown Royal made in the heart of Manitoba, this drink satisfies and makes you proud to be prairie.

The Prairie Caesar

1 tsp Chinook Honey Company buckwheat honey
1 tbsp caesar rimmer, enough for rimming
cracked black pepper, enough for rimming
1 oz. Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye
4 oz. Walter Craft Caesar in Classic Spice
1 oz. beef stock
1 dash dash black pepper bitters, or freshly grated black pepper
1 barspoon BBQ sauce
2 dash hot sauce
1 squeeze lemon
Meat Chops beef jerky, for garnish
1 lemon wedge, for garnish
1 celery stalk, for garnish

Brush edge of glass with Chinook Honey. In a small dish wider than the mouth of the glass, combine Caesar rimmer mix and cracked black pepper, and rim glass completely.

Fill glass with ice, add Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye, Walter Craft Caesar Mix and remaining ingredients, except garnish, and stir gently.

Garnish with Meat Chops Beef Jerky, fresh lemon wedge and celery stalk.
