While whisky usually prevails in winter months, gin cocktails are never out of season. This one, made with Central City Brewer's Queensborough Gin, bitters and ginger ale is an easy going cocktail that's good any evening of the week.

Queensborough Gin recently won the Double Gold medal at the San Diego Spirits Competition, in which judges as they unanimously chose Queensborough Gin in a blind taste test. It's the only Canadian gin to win the award.

The premium, London Dry style gin takes on the mountain's juniper berry flavours and Vancouver Island's aromatic spruce tips.

1 ½ oz. Queensborough gin
1/2 oz. vermouth
1 oz. maple syrup
3 dashes aromatic bitters
3 mint leaves, plus more for garnish
4 to 6 oz. ginger ale
1 cinnamon stick, for garnish

Add gin, vermouth, maple syrup, bitters and 3 mint leaves to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake, and double strain into a balloon glass.

Top with ginger ale.

Garnish with cinnamon stick and mint sprig.
