The end of summer may soon be on the horizon, but Albertans still have plenty of great opportunities to soak up the sun while enjoying live music from a talented assortment of local artists across the province.
From an intimate evening of live music, snacks and sips at Calgary’s Ill-Fated Kustoms to an afternoon concert at Edmonton’s Downtown Farmers’ Market, to an all-star lineup of Alberta-based musicians at the Southern Alberta Music Festival in Mossleigh, here are some great restaurants and venues with live music events coming up this week!
Calgary
A Night with Ellen Doty at Ill-Fated Kustoms
On Friday, Aug. 13th, acclaimed jazz singer Ellen Doty will take the stage at Ill-Fated Kustoms to perform a mix of original music and standards. Opening for Doty is equally celebrated folk singer Wyatt C. Louis who will also join her onstage later in the evening for a captivating song or two.
A full bar will be available throughout the evening offering wine, beer, spirits and more. A mix of simple appetizers and snacks like charcuterie, olives and dips will be available to order as well. Limited seats are available for this show, so grab tickets while they last!

Spirit of the Mile Songwriting contest finals at Ironwood Stage and Grill
