Where to watch live music in Alberta this week

As we hit the midway point of August, it's another a great week for live music in Alberta.

From a great show being put on by JazzYYC at Ironwood Stage and Grill to a bluegrass festival out in Sundre, here are some places to watch live music and enjoy some food and drink from August 16-22.

Calgary

JazzYYC Presents André Wickenheiser Sextet at Ironwood Stage and Grill

Presented by JazzYYC, Calgary based trumpeter André Wickenheiser will be performing with his band at Ironwood Stage and Grill on Thursday, August 19th. The Ironwood is known for their great atmosphere and menu. The show starts at 7 p.m., be sure to grab tickets to this evening filled with music in the TD JazzYYC music series.

Songsmith Sundays with Carter Felker at King Eddy

Country-folk singer-songwriter Carter Felker hosts a relaxed afternoon of stories and songs with a rotating cast of songwriter guests at the legendary King Eddy. On August 22nd at 11:30 a.m., head on down for an afternoon of live music and try out King Eddy’s amazing menu of food and drinks. 

Sherry Kennedy at Cornerstone Music Cafe

TD JazzYYC and Cornerstone Music Cafe present singer-songwriter Sherry Kennedy. Cornerstone Music Cafe’s menu has a variety of delicious items and drinks that make for a cozy afternoon. Check it out on Saturday, August 21st at 11 a.m.

Joe Nolan at Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market

On Saturday, August 21st at 12 p.m., Edmonton singer-songwriter Joe Nolan will be performing at the Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market. Joe brings an honest and authentic sound to his music, coming off the release of his latest album release, you’ll definitely want to check out his performance.
