With the number and quality of Japanese restaurants in Vancouver, it's no wonder that there are some really great cocktails that uses Asian ingredients coming out of the city. Take Minami, for example, a moderm Japanese restaurant with a West Coast flair. There, Mark Gunther prepares this sake cocktail. Give it a try.
1 oz. Aburi ginjo
1/2 oz. Makers Mark
1/2 oz. Tanqueray
1 oz. jasmine syrup
1 dash fresh lime juice
Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously.
Single strain into a coupe glass with a half rim of sugar/shiso mix.
Garnish with a thinly sliced lime wheel.
