While Ki is far from being a traditional Japanese restaurant, it serves some of the best Japanese cuisine with a modern twist. It also promotes a bit of an usual pairing: cocktails and Japanese dishes. For National Caesar Day, Ki's Samurai Caesar and its regular Caesars will be $5 each. If you can't make it, celebrate by making this at home with vodka, shochu (a Japanese distilled spirit), Samurai Savory sauce and shichimi togarashi. You don't need a crazy stick of garnish here.
1 tbsp shichimi togarashi, to rim the glass
1 oz. vodka
1 oz. shochu
1 oz. Samurai Savory sauce, a blend of sriracha, low sodium soy sauce and wasabi
6 oz. Mott’s Clamato, to top the drink
pickled asparagus, to garnish
lime wedge, to garnish
Rim the edge of a glass with shichimi togarashi (Japanese seven-spice). Add ice to the glass.
Add vodka, shochu, Samuari Savory sauce and top with Clamato. Stir to combine.
Garnish with a pickled asparagus spear and a lime wedge.
