"No whisk, no reward!" seems to be the tagline for the just-announced Food Network Canada series Wall of Bakers.
After three seasons of success with the Corus Studios production Wall of Chefs, the company has decided to test out a new format focused on home bakers. Each episode, amateur bakers will face off in three rounds of sweet competition before a winner is crowned.
Wall of Bakers will start things off with the "Crowd-Pleaser" round (preparing their own personal signature desserts), followed by the "Baker's Pantry" round (creating a dessert using two ingredients that are staples in the pantry of one of the judges) and the third and final "Bakery-Worthy" round where the remaining two home bakers are inspired by a chef's signature confection to make their own creation.
Of course, there is crossovers other Food Network Canada shows like Wall of Chefs and Great Chocolate Showdown with Lynn Crawford, Christine Cushing, Anna Olson and Steve Hodge making appearances, but there is plenty of cross-country baking talent that's been added to the judging panel as well. Raveena Oberoi (Just Cakes Bakeshop, Surrey, B.C.), Amy Rosen, Tracey Muzzolini (Christies Mayfair Bakery, Saskatoon), Calgary's David Rousseau (Ollia Macarons and Tea) and Top Chef Canada alum Jo Notkin (Maison Zoe Ford) are a few of the experts we will see on the "wall" throughout the 10-episode season.
Wall of Bakers will premiere on March 28, 2022 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Food Network Canada.
