It's with much buzz that Canada's first location of popular Mediterranean street food chain Miznon is finally about to open in Toronto.

Located at 1235 Bay Street, Miznon Toronto is the 40th restaurant by chef and founder Eyal Shani to open globally. Since opening the original location in Tel Aviv in 2011, the Miznon chain has expanded globally with six restaurants in the United States in cities like Las Vegas and New York as well as locations in Paris, Melbourne, Singapore, and more.

"We've always wanted to come to Toronto and are excited to be part of the community and create happiness through the Miznon experience," said chef Shani in today's opening announcement.

The Toronto location will be the very first Miznon in the world to serve Halal-certified lamb and chicken. Like all locations, the pitas it will use are made with proprietary recipe at one of the Middle East's oldest pita bakeries.

As well, it will have two menu items exclusive to North America, Bag of Golden Meat (overnight brisket and onions seared on a hot skillet and served with aioli) and the Candy Steak pita (charred overnight brisket, aioli, mustard, pickles, tomato, and red onion on pita).

"We've been eating at Miznon locations around the world for years and have always felt more like family than customers when we walk through their doors," said Eli Benchetrit, president of Miznon Canada. "Toronto is a city with texture and vibrancy and people who truly love great food. I can't think of another city that better exemplifies the soul of Miznon – the energy, warmth, and harmony that exists here is so special. We want everyone to enjoy that essence from the moment they walk through the door."

Miznon Toronto is located at 1235 Bay Street. After its grand opening on Friday, February 3, 2023, it will be open Sundays to Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursdays to Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
