With stories of many grocers across Canada announcing new safety measures and employee benefits this week, Pusateri's Fine Foods is also receiving a plethora of social media mentions today, but not for the same reason.

The specialty grocer has been trying to sell Lysol wipes for a shocking price of $29.99 a package. Wipes like these typically cost anywhere from $4 to $6, so the price hike is both eyebrow-raising and infuriating.

As a result, the above image has been making the rounds on all social platforms, Pusteri's has locked their Twitter account, but made an official statement later in the afternoon.

“We are a family owned and operated business and we share the concern of the new realities that COVID-19 has created for everyone. This should have never happened, and it will never happen again,” said CEO Frank Luchetta in his remarks.

Pusateri's will also provide a full refund to anyone who purchased these wipes. People have been instructed to email the grocer to obtain the refund.
