A fun night of food, wine and architecture

An interesting exploration into the unbuilt works of Canadian architect Aurthur Erickson kicked off today at Vancouver’s Law Courts Great Hall. In addition to offering visitors both a chance to learn about Erikson’s unique visions that did not come to fruition and a master class for aspiring architects, the four-day event will culminate on July 7 with a lively Gala.

The Gala celebration itself will feature food and wine from Big Mountain Foods and Birch Block Vineyard, respectively. Event-goers will have a chance to sample a selection of Birch Block wines, including a rosé, a Pétillant Naturel Blanc De Franc, and a low-alcohol Piquette, as well as a yet-to-be-released old vine pinot noir from the oldest organic vineyard in the Okanagan. The full list of food items have yet to be revealed, but we’ve been told to expect Big Mountain’s NEXTY Award-winning Lion’s Mane Mushroom Crumble.

General admission to the Arthur Erickson Foundation Gala is priced at $125 per person and $50 per student. Tickets include hors d’oeuvres, a beverage, and a complimentary 1-year AEF membership for non-members. More information can be found online.
