After roughly two years since the concept of a contemporary food hall in the heart of Victoria Park was first proposed, followed by a stretch of pandemic-induced delays, Calgary’s First Street Market is finally getting ready to open its doors to diners.
Although the exact opening date has yet to be officially announced, over the past week, seven of the market’s nine vendors have been revealed, so it’s likely safe to assume that the grand opening will take place in the very near future.
The current lineup of vendors that will occupy the open concept space on the ground floor of the Underwood Tower community buildings include Hi5 Burgers and Fries, Friends with Benedicts by Pigot’s Breakfast Club, Actually Pretty Good by Our Daily Brett, Alforno, Raw by Robyn, The Moose and Poncho, and Pure Street Food by Pure Modern Asian Kitchen and Bar.
In addition to the array of culinary concepts on offer, the market will also feature a First Street Market bar along with a large 1st Street-facing patio space fitted with all the usual amenities. The final two vendors will likely be revealed in the next few days before making an official announcement regarding the exact opening date.
