Italy’s Fantinel Winery and Mary J. Blige debut wine collection in Canada

The duo’s award-winning rosé and sauvignon blanc are available across the country

International Rosé Day is right around the corner, and to celebrate the occasion, a new limited-edition varietal from a collaboration between Italy’s Fantinel Winery and Mary J. Blige has hit shelves across Canada.

Named after the Grammy award-winning artist’s longtime nickname, Sun Goddess Wines are the result of a three-year passion project that saw Blige immerse herself in Italy’s winemaking culture at the renowned Italian winery.

"After walking through the vineyards and tasting with the Fantinel family, I felt extremely connected to the place, and more importantly, the people,” says Blige. “The experience at the winery inspired me to create my own wines in partnership with Marco Fantinel.”

Already awarded a gold medal at the Global Rosé Masters category from the Drinks Business, the duo’s pinot grigio ramato offers notes of peach, melon, and blackberry along with a crisp finish. The collaboration has also produced a new sauvignon blanc that, like the rosé, has received a 90-point rating from James Suckling.

Both wines are currently available for purchase at select retailers in Ontario, Alberta, and BC and will be available in Quebec this coming August.
