Canada’s Pride season is now in full swing and the Calgary Stampede is right around the corner, and if you’ve been looking for fun ways to blend the two come July, you’re in luck; we’ve compiled four fabulous Stampede-themed drag brunches that we can’t wait to check out next month.

Whether it be a RuPaul’s Drag Race allum and a pair of local legends lighting up the stage at The Prairie Emporium, a star-studded lineup of celebrity queens electrifying fans at Wildhorse Saloon or Cowboys or a southern-style brunch for a great cause at Whiskey Rose Saloon, you can bet that the Eat North crew will be there with our shirts fringed and a mimosa (or two) in hand.

Whiskey Rose Saloon Stampede Charity Drag Brunch (July 9)

On Saturday, July 9, Whiskey Rose Saloon will play host to a Southern-style brunch hosted by Emperor Dion Boink Sanoir. In addition to being a fun way to spend a Stampede afternoon, Whiskey Rose Saloon will also be donating proceeds from a 50/50 draw and silent auction to the Safelink Positive Living Lunch Program.

Tickets are priced between $10 to $20 per person and can be purchased via Showpass.

The Prairie Emporium - The Outlier: That Don't Impress Me Brunch (July 10)

One of Calgary’s top drag brunch destinations and home to a number of fun events taking place throughout the Stampede, The Prairie Emporium is hosting a star-studded Stampede drag brunch on July 10 featuring RuPaul’s Drag Race star Jaidynn Diore Fierce.

The iconic queen will be joined by local drag legends Ivy League, Karla Marx, and Elektra Kute, as well as acclaimed pop singer Madison Olds. Guests can expect a flavourful food menu with breakfast sandwiches, wraps, and cinnamon buns, along with a beverage menu with classic brunch libations like mimosas, Remy Martin sangria, Botanist gin Caesars, and much more.

Tickets can be purchased online at $10 per person until June 30 and at $20 per person thereafter.

WERK Stampede Drag Brunch (July 16)

Known for hosting some of the most entertaining and lively drag brunches in town, WERK will be returning to Wildhorse Saloon for another Stampede-themed event on Saturday, July 16. Hosted by Mr. Terri Stevens in the Wildhorse tent, this year’s brunch will feature international stars Aquaria, Gottmik, and Violet Chachki, along with performances by local queens like Nearah Nuff, Misty Meadows, Carly York Jones, and many more.

Tickets range from $50 to $150 and can be purchased online. Table space will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis, so WERK recommends arriving early.

Cowboys Music Festival’s Drag Me To Brunch (July 16)

Following a fantastic premiere for its inaugural event in 2019 and a pandemic-induced pause in 2020, the Cowboys Music Festival event Drag Me To Brunch is officially making a return in 2022.

Hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race judges Michelle Visage and Carson Kressley, this year’s event will feature performances by out-of-town talent like Jinkx Monsoon, Jaida Essence Hall, and Monet X Change, as well as local performers like Angelina Starchild, Felicia Bonee, and country singer Robert Adam.

Tickets can be purchased online from $24.99 to $49.99, and you can save an additional 15 per cent using the coupon code EATNORTH at checkout.
