Featuring butterfly pea flower blossoms and Martin Miller gin, this concoction uses ingredients that may seem unusual, but many of them can be found at a local boutique liquor store and online. At the Catersource Swizzle cocktail competition in New Orleans, the Lazy Gourmet’s Shannon Boudreau used these trendy ingredients, plus others for her three custom cocktails, to take home the top prize. Try it at home.

The Cocoon Evolution cocktail

30 mL Martin Miller gin
8 to 10 butterly pea flower blossoms, plus more for garnish
15 mL elderflower simple syrup
15 mL fresh squeezed lemon juice
30 mL lemon sour sode

Top with lemon sour soda and stir. Rim coupe glass with lemon wedge and rim half with lavender sugar and carefully strain drink into glass.
