Award-winning chef Carmen Ingham, joins the culinary team as the new executive chef at The Pointe Restaurant, located inside Vancouver Island's most iconic hotel property, Wickaninnish Inn. Ingham has been brought in to replace The Pointe's long-standing executive chef, Warren Barr, who decided to actively pursue the opening of his own restaurant, Pluvio Restaurant and Rooms in Ucluelet.

"I am very passionate about this beautiful corner of the world and have always thought of the inn as the property that best represents it. I couldn't ask for a more inspiring place to cook," says Ingham.

Ingham’s varied culinary experiences allows him to showcase his philosophy of highlighting local ingredients at the highest level possible. Earlier in his career, Ingham won second place in the Hawksworth Young Chef Scholarship competition, in which he was later recognized as the Le Creuset Rising Star. He was also one of the top ten young chefs in Canada at San Pellegrino Young Chef competition in 2016. Ingham continued to develop his culinary skills at a number of restaurants, including Olo Restaurant in Victoria, B.C. where he was head chef.

Together with The Pointe's restaurant manager, Annette Rawlinson (who was also brought on recently) and beverage manager and sommelier, Ike Seaman, the restaurant is looking forward to the direction of this strong leadership team.
