Vocalist for Canada’s most beloved underground band Cowpuncher, who is releasing its fourth album Hustle this spring, Matt Olah is also the marketing manager for Calgary’s second largest event: Calgary Folk Music Festival, celebrating its 37th anniversary July 21 - 24, 2016. The band will be playing at the Palomino for JUNOfest. Olah obviously lives and breathes music, but there's got to be some food in there too, right? With Olah's irregular schedule, he has some tasty suggestions for those looking for options outside of the usual brunch and sit-down dinner restaurants in Calgary.

Fortune Food on Centre St and 23 Ave N. It’s a little hole in the wall that makes the most addictive dim sum treats imaginable. My body won’t let me go more than week without forcing me to go.

Of course, Calgary’s classic lunch stop is Thi Thi--the best Vietnamese subs in the known universe.
Dinner
When you say dinner, you’re really saying, "What place do you go to at 2 a.m. after a hard night of drinking and radness?" Yes? My pick: Simply Irie Caribbean Cuisine on 14th St and 17th Ave. I’m not a huge eater, so I have to split their rotis. They seem to go on forever.
Drinks
My favourite place to drink is wherever there is live music: Festival Hall (shameless self promotion), The Palomino, Broken City, The Distortion, the Ship and the Gateway.
