This week, Vancouver’s Di Beppe announced that for the third consecutive year, the celebrated Gastown eatery’s unique, mini food festival (of sorts), Festa della Polenta, will return for the month of April.
Inspired by a longtime tradition in Tuscany that dates back to the 16th century when Italian nobility offered polenta to hungry townspeople to help fight famine, Di Beppe’s month-long menu will showcase a selection of traditional Italian springtime staples, such as pork cheek and polenta fritters with paprika aioli and pickles, Tuscan black pepper short ribs with polenta rustica, and much more.
The Festa della Polenta three-course menu is priced at $49 per person, with optional aperitivo, digestivo, and wine pairings available for an additional $34 per person. Diners will also have the option to order any of the Festa della Polenta offerings à la carte.
Di Beppe is open daily from 5-10 p.m. Reservations for Festa della Polenta can be made online.
