Inspired by acts like Lady A and Little Big Town, Quebec-based country act Five Roses released their debut EP independently in 2018, and have been gaining plenty of momentum since.
Comprised of Jade Godin and Zach Ouimet, the duo came to be thanks to a chance encounter at the barbershop where Godin worked. Now part of MDM Recordings Inc., Five Roses has found much success with their single "Might As Well Be Me", which has over 1M combined streams to date.
The deluxe edition of their EP Jukebox Vibrations was released last month to plenty of buzz and includes tunes like "Sweetheart of Summer", "To The Moon And Back" and more.
Recently, we had the chance to chat with Jade Godin and Zach Ouimet about where they love to eat and drink in ther home base of Montreal. From cool cafes to world-class cocktails, here's what they had to say.
Breakfast
Jade: I love Régine Café because of its atmosphere, the food, and the cozy vibes.
Zack: L’Avenue is a go-to for me. It’s got some crazy twists on standard breakfast foods.
Lunch
Jade: L’Avenue has great food for breakfast and lunch. The decor and the atmosphere both feel young, trendy and fun!
Zack: Burger Bar Crescent as the best burgers in town. Make sure to get a side of sweet potato fries too, obviously.
Dinner
Jade: The Grinder has a great vibe. The food is incredible here, and there is a nice little terrasse in the summer.
There is also a cool bar downstairs called the King Crab. Love it!
Zack: L’Express is a classic and offering taste of Paris in Montreal.
Drinks
Jade: Warehouse is a place that reminds me of lots of good memories with friends, and they serve great food at a low prices if you get a little hungry!
Zack: Atwater Cocktail Club has a cool atmosphere and makes great cocktails.
