Try Czech food in Calgary at the PRASÁTKO pop-up Sept. 6-7

A fun pop-up showcasing traditional and contemporary Czech food in Calgary

Grilled camembert and langos are just two tasty things to try at this Czech-inspired food event in Calgary.

If you've been looking for a taste of Czech food in Calgary, or haven't tried it before and have always been curious about it, then you should take note of this upcoming pop-up at The Prairie Emporium.

Created by cookbook author and food personality Dan Clapson, PRASÁTKO is a Czech-inspired food event happening on Sept. 6-7, 2025, that sees a mix of traditional and contemporary Czech dishes and drinks accented by Prairie ingredients. Having spent time in Prague, Czechia annually since 2017, and recognizing a lack of Czech food in Calgary, the author decided to launch this bi-monthly Czech pop-up in early 2024.

"There's much to love about Czech food and drink culture, so it always excites me to showcase some aspects of it every time we put on a PRASÁTKO event at The Prairie Emporium," explains Clapson. "This time around, we are leaning more into summery and shareable Czech dishes like grilled camembert, Czech-style tartare, homemade fruit lemonades, and a ton more."
