The Calgary-based Big Rock Brewery is always known for launching something easy-drinking and refreshing for summer, but its summer release for this year is feeling especially buzzworthy. The new Lake Fever Lager is a collaboration with the iconic Canadian band The Tragically Hip and promises to be a simple, crushable (my word, not theirs) brew to sip through to the fall.
"We've harboured the ambition to release our own beer for a long time but could never find the right partner. Until now. We're proud to announce the arrival of Lake Fever Lager. Big thanks to the great folks at Canadian-owned and independent Big Rock Brewery, they've been amazing to work with," says a representative of The Hip in this week's press announcement.
Now available for preorder on the Big Rock website as well as in select liquor stores across the country later this week, the band notes that Big Rock Brewery's Lake Fever Lager will be their one and only collaboration beer.
The brewery is also running a contest to celebrate the premiere of the Lake Fever Lager where 20 lucky Canadians will win "ultimate" prize packs.
