It's been a long time coming, but Canada's premier casual dining restaurant chain, JOEY Restaurants is preparing to open the doors to their new flagship location in North Vancouver. The swanky JOEY Shipyards is the company's 28th restaurant in North America, the first new Vancouver location in over ten years and was over two years in the making.
The space itself is a multi-level, 9,500-sq.ft. stunner with a huge marble-topped central bar, marble-lined staircase, a state-of-the-art open kitchen as well as patios on each level that looks out onto the water.
The company's executive chef Chris Mills says this location has been a long time coming for the West Coast city and is looking forward to seeing Vancouverites embrace it once it officially opens on January 23.
"We are very excited about this new location," says Mills. "Shipyards is our first opening in a decade for Vancouver, hot off the heels of our JOEY DTLA restaurant in downtown Los Angeles. We waited for an iconic Vancouver location that we could influence from the ground up. The result is a stunning two-level restaurant with epic views of water and downtown featuring an theatre-style open kitchen."
Much like the company's original flagship location at Bentall Centre in downtown Vancouver, people can expect a more advanced bar program as well as additional feature dishes specific to their flagship locations, like their steak and prawn ravioli with truffle, miso ramen and more.
JOEY Shipyards opens at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 23.
