Last week, Hawthorn Dining Room and Bar announced a new culinary experience coming this fall that will bring the already glamorous Fairmont property into a new level of luxury.
In celebration of the upcoming Downton Abbey movie, Fairmont executive chef Eraj Jayawickreme and Hawthorn executive chef Dave Bohati have assembled a menu fit for royalty, set to take place from September 21 through October 27.
The locally-sourced tea series menu will feature elegant afternoon offerings such as hand-crafted sandwiches and decadent pastries, allowing guests to partake in the kind of prestige present in the Yorkshire country estate of Downton Abbey.
“The Hawthorn Dining Room is committed to bringing exciting and unique culinary experiences to our guests, while partnering with local producers and small businesses,” says Ian Burns, general manager of the Hawthorn Dining Room and Bar. “We are thrilled about the opportunity to elevate our existing afternoon tea. The release of the Downton Abbey movie couldn’t be more fitting.”
To kick off the Downton Abbey tea series, Hawthorn is hosting a movie launch tea party on Friday, September 20, 1-3 p.m., where guests will get a sneak peek at what will be on offer throughout the upcoming weeks. Reservations can be made online or by phone.
