Banff and Lake Louise’s internationally renowned SnowDays festival is just over a week away and for the second consecutive year, one of the top draws will be the Tribute Craft Spirits Celebration.
The 12-day celebration will once again see some of Banff and Lake Louise’s most popular restaurants collaborate with distilleries from Alberta and British Columbia to celebrate the region’s bountiful and diverse food and drink scene.
Nineteen restaurants and bars from Banff and Lake Louise are set to participate in the Craft Spirit Celebration’s sophomore season, and this year, each location has created a special cocktail menu featuring five craft spirits, which will be displayed at their venue throughout the event. Each location’s cocktail creations aim to highlight their personality as a venue, and offer their own take on the Rocky Mountains’ unique craft distillery landscape.
This year’s celebration features 12 participating distilleries, including Calgary’s Burwood Distillery, Turner Valley’s Eau Claire Distillery, and Banff’s own Park Distillery.
Also returning for its second year is the Craft Spirit Celebration’s main event, a festive two-day Outdoor Tasting Experience held in downtown Banff. Taking place on January 24 and 25, the event will allow guests to discover and engage with participating restaurants, bars, and distilleries, who will be offering tastings of spirits and hors d’oeuvres made with local ingredients.
Tribute was created by the team behind the Made With Love cocktail competition, which aims to celebrate and push the boundaries of cocktail creativity, while promoting local craft distilleries and their artisans.
“We are proud and excited to be presenting Tribute - Craft Spirits Celebration in Banff for a second year!'' says Pierre-Olivier Trempe, Made With Love director and founder. ''People in Alberta love their craft spirits and the enthusiasm from the distilleries to have their products discovered by a wider range of the population is notable. The magical winter atmosphere in Banff is just the perfect setting to gather distillers and celebrate craftsmanship"
