What would you do with your weight in maple products?

That’s something for the winners of the Québec City and Montréal Grands Prix Cyclistes races in 2015 to ponder. As a partner of the races, the Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers (FPAQ) will provide the winners of the races the equivalent of their weight in Maple Products from Quebec.

To support athletes with a more healthy and natural energy source, various companies have developed new products made with maple syrup as a replacement for sugar.

''Cyclists need a healthy energy source for their sport. Maple syrup is a 100 per cent natural energy source in the form of simple sugars that metabolize quickly into glucose and act as fuel during exercise,” says FPAQ President Serge Beaulieu.

Maple Products from Quebec, a brand by the FPAQ, will be featured at the Fuelled By NatureTM booth at the events, on September 11 and September 13.

The races, which includes 168 of the best cyclists from 17 UCI WorldTeams around the world, will be broadcasted to 130 countries. Needless to say, spectators and viewers will be impressed by the athlete’s stamina and curious about their diets.

Since Quebec produces 90 per cent of Canada's maple syrup, this would be the perfect opportunity for the FPAQ to showcase some of Canada’s best maple products internationally.

Move over pumpkin spice, it’s all about maple this September.
