Stefano Faita, a renowned Montreal restaurant owner, chef and TV personality, announced today the launch of his signature, ready-to-eat tomato sauces across Canadian grocery stores. After having great sauce success in Quebec, Stefano Sauces are now available in Sobeys stores and all affiliated stores across Canada.
"I started cooking at a young age, alongside my mother and grandmothers, who taught me the value of simple and healthy recipes," said Stefano Faita, co-founder and co-owner of Stefano Sauces. "I am excited to have the chance to bring the essence of my roots to the rest of Canada. My goal is to get more Canadians buying locally, eating healthy and cooking more often.”
Faita was born and raised in Montreal's Little Italy. He created the products with his partner, chef Michele Forgione, with the flavours of Quebec's Little Italy in mind, incorporating family traditions into the recipes. Currently, there are four flavours of Stefano Sauces: arrabiata, tomato basil, marinara and rosée, with more flavours coming this fall!
The sauces are created with fresh and completely natural good ingredients, free of preservatives. All varieties are gluten-free with no sugar, water or tomato paste added.
Faita is not the first Montreal-based personality to release a line of artisanal food products. Ricardo Larrivée has a line of namesake products that include caramel sauces and cookies and chef Chuck Hughes has his own line which offers things like white balsamic vinegar, antipasto, hot sauce and even maple syrup all either sourced or developed by the chef himself.
