Though there is not much information avaiable as to why, The Rose and Crown announced over the weekend that had closed permanently.

"Thank you for all the love and support over the years," said a (presumably final) post on the pub's Facebook page.

Located in one of the few historical buildings in and around Calgary's always-bustling 17th Avenue SW, The Rose and Crown inhabited a former funeral home that was built in the early 1900s.

In November, the pub was closed by Alberta Health Services, with a report citing an excess of dead mice and mice droppings found on premises, but it remains unclear if these infractions in late 2022 had anything to do with The Rose and Crown's closure.
