Shantelle Davidson brings her edgy country-meets-pop sound to listeners across the nation. A singer/songwriter known for her sweet and sassy vocals and ability to entertain audiences of all ages, the Fort McMurray-based artist has earned opening acts for artists including George Canyon, Chad Brownlee and Brett Kissel, just to name a few.

"It is absolutely inspiring to see people in our community come together to support one another and rebuild," says Ms. Davidson about the after effect of the fires that engulfed the city earlier this year. "Myself and many other local artists have held fundraisers and helped to lift spirits! Fort McMurray feels like a small town to me, as I went to high school here and you see the same faces all the time. It feels comforting to be a part of this [rebuilding]"

Her latest and catchy single, “Faster Now” is on the rotation on stations like Calgary's Wild 953 and helped cement Davidson as one of the top 12 finalists in the artist initiative, Project WILD, which sees tens of thousands of dollars up for grabs for emerging country talent.

If live performances are you jam, so to speak, you can catch Shantelle live on October 20th at Knoxville's in Calgary as part of Wild 953 and Alberta Music's Project WILD: Country Showcase Series.

Here is where the bubbly country singer loves to eat in her hometown of Fort McMurray.

I like Cora’s because it's such a warm and friendly atmosphere! Everything there [feels like] sunshine and rainbows!

Lunch

Mitchell's Cafe [is my go-to]. It feels like my Grandma making me lunch when I am here. [They have] amazing sandwiches with their homemade yellow bread and delicious soups!

Dinner

I like the East Village Pub & Eatery because it's classy and cool. There's a great variety [of dishes] to choose from and meals are always made fresh. Plus, there's live music too!

Drinks

I'd go with Tavern on Main. They've got a huge variety of beers on tap and the staff are always super friendly. It also has the best open mic in town!
